Theme: Connecting Cultures
Students of LKG participated in a joyful and meaningful celebration of the International Day of Friendship. As a part of this celebration, students exchanged greetings of friendship with their counterparts from Colegio Somar in Brazil. These greetings were shared in the form of video messages. To showcase the linguistic diversity of India, the greetings were expressed in multiple Indian languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Marwari, in addition to English. The partner school also shared their messages in English and their native language, enhancing the spirit of cultural exchange.
Our students displayed a fresh fruit market place and shared pictures with tThe Hakolat Private Schools, Nigeria. They shared a heart-warming video of their Fruit Day Activity, where children sang songs and spoke a few lines about the benefits of different fruits, making the experience both joyful and informative.
Theme: Our Green World( Fruits & Vegetables)
A vibrant vegetable market setup gave students hands-on experience in buying, selling, and money use through joyful role-play as vendors and customers. The activity fostered practical learning, teamwork, and awareness of healthy eating in a lively, real-world setting. The Khaitan School recreated a bustling vegetable market, where cheerful vendors and curious customers brought the experience to life.
MoU Signing Ceremony – International Collaboration with Ogawa High School, Japan : On 22nd July, Birla High School hosted the MoU signing ceremony to formalise a partnership between Sushila Birla Girls’ School, Kolkata, Birla High School, Kolkata, and Ogawa High School, Japan. The event marked the beginning of a collaborative initiative aimed at promoting international understanding through educational exchange, cultural engagement, and student interaction.The ceremony was graced by the Consul General of Japan, Mr. Ishikawa, the Principal of Ogawa High School, two accompanying teachers, the Secretary General, and the Principals of BHS and SBGS. The signing of the MoU signifies a shared commitment to fostering global citizenship and enriching learning experiences across borders.
Students explored natural herbal eco-friendly colors for Holi and researched ways to create them using turmeric, beetroot, and spinach. They dedicated a day to making 'herbal abeer' for a green, chemical-free Holi and exchanged insights with their partner school on chemical-free practices. They also researched India’s renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, biopower, and nuclear energy, and studied their role in reducing pollution. House-wise brochures were created on India's energy initiatives and shared with the partner school, which also contributed its own energy-efficient practices.
Students explored a kaleidoscope of traditional art form and festivals, experiencing India’s incredible culture and heritage. Through learning about these traditions, they enriched their understanding and engaged in diverse discussions, activities, and reflections with their partner school. The students of the partner school also showcased their work as well.
