Birla High School students celebrated Hindi Diwas with heartfelt performances that highlighted the beauty and cultural significance of the Hindi language. Through poems, songs, dances, and skits featuring Kabirdas ji and Kavi Jay Shankar Prasad, they conveyed messages of unity, kindness, and patriotism. The event concluded with a collective pledge to honor and proudly use Hindi as a symbol of national pride.
The Inter-House STEAM Competition on “Sustainable Cities – Building Greener Future,” hosted by Tagore House, aligned with SDG 11 and inspired students to envision inclusive and eco-friendly urban spaces. Participants from all six houses showcased innovative models of cities from the Past, Present, and Future, reflecting creativity and environmental awareness. The event fostered responsible thinking around urban development and was both educational and engaging. Shivaji House secured the first position, followed by Gandhi House and Tagore House.

As part of World Water Week, students engaged in blended learning activities themed “Save Water, Secure Future” to promote awareness of SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation. Appointed as ‘Water Saviours’, select boys monitored responsible water usage, while all students contributed creative ideas through illustrated paper clouds and a melodious water conservation song. NURSERY: Our Bagless Day was filled with joy, colours, and creativity as the children celebrated the world of community helpers! Through this activity, they not only discovered the importance of community helpers but also built confidence, imagination, creativity, fine motor skills, empathy, and social awareness in a playful and meaningful way.
LKG:
1. Mystery Number Reveal: Children sat in a circle and passed a secret number (1–30) along the chain by whispering it to each other. The last child revealed the number aloud, and the class counted together up to that number. Played in two groups, the activity made number revision fun, engaging, and collaborative.
2. Magic Scratch: Children coloured their papers with bright shades of their choice and layered them with black crayon. Using a stick or pencil, they scratched out beautiful designs, magically revealing the vibrant colours hidden beneath.
3. Move to the Beat: The boys joyfully moved to the rhythm of lively music, showcasing their energy and enthusiasm. With each beat, they explored creative movements, built confidence, and expressed themselves through dance in a fun and engaging way.
UKG:
1. Little Champs, Big Moves: The day began with Little Champs, Big Moves, where children enthusiastically participated in traditional Indian games such as Kho Kho, Hockey, and Hopscotch on the terrace.
2. One and Many: Children enjoyed their English and Number Work work classes where they revised the concept of “One and Many” through a teacher-tailored worksheet related to save water save life and reinforced their number sequencing (1–50) using LEGO blocks, making learning interactive and enjoyable.
3. Ganesha craft: The creative segment of the day, A Colourful Tribute to the Lord of Beginnings, encouraged children to make a vibrant Ganesha craft using sponge-dabbing, sequins, bindis, and paper cutouts, thereby enhancing their fine motor skills and artistic expression.
CLASS I:
1. Storytelling session: The interactive storytelling session was a delightful journey into the magic of long vowels, especially focusing on how the “Magic e” transforms sounds! Using lively puppets and a charming story, Ms. Rameka turned an important phonics lesson into an unforgettable experience for our young learners
2. Hopscotch: Students hopped through the grid of action words, they discovered and practiced new vocabulary such as sprint and whisper, strengthening both their physical agility and linguistic skills.
CLASS II:
1. Touch Matters: A session on good touch and bad touch was conducted by Ms. P. Mazumdar, Ms. A. Daver, and Ms. R. Ekka during the Conversation class to sensitize students about appropriate and inappropriate physical contact. The session empowered children with the awareness and confidence to recognize, respond to, and report any uncomfortable or unsafe situations to trusted adults.
2. Healthy Sandwich Delight: Children prepared delicious sandwiches using simple, healthy ingredients while exploring the nutritional value of each component in connection with their EVS chapter "Think Food First." The hands-on activity enhanced their cognitive skills through decision-making, sequencing steps, and creative expression, while an interactive session raised awareness about the health risks of excessive sugar consumption.
3. Fun With Sticks, Magic Tricks: A Cue Math session conducted by Ms. Zaineb Calcuttawala engaged students in hands-on activities involving aptitude tests, logical puzzles, and matchstick challenges. Through solving riddles and forming geometric shapes, students sharpened their analytical and critical thinking skills while creatively applying mathematical concepts.
4. Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi And World Water Week In The Vernacular Classes: On the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, students drew images of Lord Ganesha and learned five of His names along with their meanings, deepening their cultural and linguistic understanding.
In celebration of World Water Week, students made paper boats, sang a song on water conservation, and discussed the various uses of water, fostering awareness about its significance and the importance of using it responsibly.
5. BHS Water Saviour: As part of the "I am BHS Water Saviour" activity, students created paper clouds with attached water droplets, writing various ways to conserve water. They sang the water anthem to spread awareness and appointed Water Monitors to check for water wastage during break times, promoting responsibility and sustainable habits.
CLASS III:
1. Khullad Painting: students enthusiastically participated in a Kulhad Painting Activity as part of the CBSE Bagless Day initiative. The children painted plain earthen kulhads with creative motifs, patterns, and designs while learning about the cultural and eco-friendly significance of this traditional utensil. The activity enriched their fine motor skills, creativity, and cultural awareness, making it both enjoyable and pedagogically meaningful.
CLASS IV:
1. Zumba: Students of Class 4 enthusiastically participated in the Zumba Activity hosted by Ms. Carol Anthony. The energetic session not only boosted their fitness but also filled the atmosphere with joy and rhythm.
2. Soduku: The Sudoku challenge encouraged students to think critically and apply logical reasoning to solve puzzles. The combination of physical activity, creative expression, and intellectual challenge made the day both enriching and enjoyable.
CLASS V:
1. Sound Healing and Meditation session - Students experienced relaxation and inner calm through a Sound Healing and Meditation session using soothing instruments like singing bowls and bells.
2. Brain Gym session - In a student-led Brain Gym session, peers guided each other through fun exercises that boosted coordination, concentration, teamwork, and confidence.
