Children’s Day
Children’s Day was celebrated with joy and enthusiasm across Playgroup to Class XII on 14th November, with teachers making the day special and memorable for all students.
Chocolate and Candy Collection Drive
On the occasion of Children’s Day, the school participated in the Chocolate and Candy Collection Drive organised by 91.9 Friends FM from 6th to 11th November. This thoughtful initiative aimed to bring joy to underprivileged children across Kolkata. Students and teachers enthusiastically contributed to the drive, spreading sweetness and happiness in the spirit of celebration.
Peace One Day
Birla High School celebrated Peace One Day across all grades with age-appropriate, creative activities that nurtured empathy, kindness, and unity. Playgroup and Nursery children explored peace through dove crafts and roleplay, while Lower and Upper KG students embraced the theme “Peace begins with me” through songs, storytelling, and digital art. Class I engaged in a serene peace walk and cross-curricular reflections, and Class II focused on anger management and teamwork through posters and discussions. Class III expressed their hopes for a peaceful world with Earth models and origami pigeons. Class IV and V deepened their understanding of SDG 16 through literature, creative expression, and thoughtful conversations on inclusion and fairness. The celebration beautifully reinforced that peace begins with small, meaningful actions.
Dot Day
International Dot Day was celebrated with joyful curiosity and vibrant creativity through stories, patterns, and imaginative crafts. Children explored dots in everyday objects, traditional art forms, and hands-on techniques like balloon printing and cotton dabbing. The celebration nurtured collaboration, expression, and joyful learning, beautifully aligning with SDG 4.
QUAESTIO 2025
Birla High School hosted the fifteenth edition of its prestigious inter-school quiz competition “Quaestio” on Wednesday, 10th August 2025, celebrating the spirit of learning and creativity. Out of 17 participating schools, eight qualified for the final round, which was conducted by renowned Quiz Master Mr. Barry Philiph Antunis. The quiz featured six engaging rounds covering diverse topics, with enthusiastic participation from both contestants and the lively audience. In the nail-biting tie breaker, Mahadevi Birla World Academy edged past Birla High School to claim the winner’s title. Birla High School came as the first runner up followed by Indus Valley World School as second runners-up respectively.
Managing anger - a session by the school Counsellor and Special educators for UKG
Upper KG students participated in an engaging session on “Understanding and Managing Anger,” led by the School Counsellor and Special Educators using role-plays, puppets, and interactive tools. They learned calming techniques and created Positive Affirmation Cards, which were placed in a ‘Calm Down Basket’ for daily use. The initiative fostered emotional awareness and was warmly appreciated with a thank-you card.
